At that meeting, the board recognized the following retiring

(Ex-Officio).
Our standing committee chairs for 2012 are as follows:
Chris Moncure-Social, Barry Golliday-Greens, Al Davis-HRT, John
Bittenbring-Communications/Marketing, Laurie Wingfield-House. The 2012
Association Presidents are Annette Sumlin-LGA 18, Mary Ann Hurley- LGA
9, Ted Zlydaszek-MGA, and Milt Berube- Associate with Golf.
As we head into 2012, we do so with challenges both different and the
same as we faced in 2011. Different in that we are past the bankruptcy
process, with our club now operating under the ownership of Prudential
and the professional management expertise of the Affiniti team. Any
member who has taken advantage of the golfing and dining benefits of
FCCC over the past 6 months can easily see and experience the positive
changes made to date. With Prudential committed to financially
supporting Affiniti in their efforts to continue the improvements in our
golf courses, facilities, and dining venues in 2012, we can easily see
how this differs from where we were one year ago. Yet, one challenge
remains the same; Prudential has contracted with a broker to try and
find a new owner for FCCC.
One year ago, the CCMA board and the membership faced the same prospect,
preparing for the eventuality of Prudential taking over the ownership of
the club. Prudential took ownership in the spring of 2011 and advised
when they did, that they were going to eventually sell the club. Now
that Prudential has publically announced the desire to do this, we must
be prepared for the eventuality of a new owner again. The good news is,
we have just been through an ownership transfer, have some foundation
documents in place (position paper and member benefits list; see CCMA
website Chapter 11) to ready ourselves for future dialogue with any
serious, prospective buyer.
The 2012 CCMA Board will prioritize its efforts to address the new
ownership issue; a) we will continue to communicate regularly with
Affiniti, Prudential, and the broker to keep up to date on where things
stand, b) with our published member benefits listing and our position
paper as a base, we will prepare ourselves for any future interview
sessions we have with prospective buyers, and c) we will appoint a
team/committee to do our own evaluation of FCCC as a possible business
venture. This will enable us to be better prepared to ask the “right
questions” of any new potential buyer. It will also enable us to advise
our membership, or any portion of our membership, that may express a
possible interest in seriously looking at such a purchase. We will keep
you, the FCCC membership, up to date on this issue on a regular basis
via e-mail and our website.
The potential sale of the club is not the only issue the CCMA board
will be spending time on. We will be reviewing our BOD election process
looking for ways we might improve it. Most of our standing committees
have new leadership and some new members, and we will work to make sure
that the way our committees interface with, and who we interface with,
in club management is and are the best way. We will look for any
additional ways to work with Affiniti to assist them in growing our club
by attracting new members. In our open board meetings with the standing
committee chairs, the golf association officers, and in our JAB meetings
with club management, we believe we continue to position ourselves to
keeping all of our members “in the loop” with our club’s operation, and
continue to protect our member benefits.
The meeting minutes of CCMA board meetings, committee meetings, golf
association updates, etc. are posted monthly on the CCMA website for
your review. Important new information or requests are “blasted” via
e-mail to our membership on an as needed basis. As always, we represent
FCCC members of all member categories, and will work diligently to
continue to do so going forward.
We wish all a healthy and happy New Year.
Craig Stambaugh
President
