Ford’s Colony Country Club Sale Update
Prudential Commercial Property Holding Company
(Prudential) assumed club ownership upon Ford’s Colony Country Club (FCCC)
exiting bankruptcy. Prudential’s business portfolio does not include operating
country clubs and from the start, they made their intentions for selling FCCC
known to FCCC membership. At the end of 2011 Prudential contracted with Marcus &
Millichap, a realtor specializing in the sales of golf course and country clubs,
to pursue the sale of FCCC. Although the length of this sales process is
unpredictable, we do know that they are calling for bids from interested
parties, sometime mid February.
As we did during last year’s bankruptcy process, the CCMA will
work to protect all of our member’s golf and social benefits during and after
the sale process. We would anticipate that all serious buyers will seek out the
CCMA board for direct contact during their “due diligence” process. We will
convey these benefits and expectations during these discussions. The
CCMA will not be proactive as a potential buyer of FCCC as we believe that the
majority of the membership is not interested in being part of a member owned and
operated club. The board will act, however, as a conduit for any private
party(s) or group(s) from our membership who may collectively be interested in
pursuing a possible purchase. Anyone interested in pursuing this action can send
an e-mail to FCCC4Sale@cox.net. We can
provide contact information for the person handling the transaction at Marcus &
Millichap.
The Board believes that any future FCCC owner will
want a successful and viable country club and will want, and need a supportive,
happy membership. We will keep you posted on any new developments as the sales
process unfolds.. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the
Board directly by using the following link:
