Members attending: T. Annoni, C. Avery, J. Coffman, A. Davis,
D. Elliott, J. Golliday, J. Joppa, K. Ruszkowski, H. Theloosen
- Introduction of committee members, review of Handicap
Committee Responsibilities and handicap competition
requirements at FCCC; as required by the USGA.
- Reviewed the Committee objectives as outlined on the
CCMA website and in previous FCCC yearbooks. The Committee
recommends to the CCMA Board that this statement be
re-worded to more accurately reflect its responsibilities.
Draft wording will be prepared and discussed at the February
HRT meeting and then submitted to the Board for their
approval.
- Pro Shop Objectives for 2012 – Dan Elliott discussed the
upcoming 2012 golf season for FCCC. The emphasis will be on:
- Superior member service by the staff
- Increased member participation in golf tournaments
- Exclusivity of member tee times on the Member Designated
Course (MDC)
- Greater emphasis by course rangers on pace of play and
authority given course rangers to impose appropriate
on-course remedies where warranted by the slow play of
individuals or group. The Committee strongly endorses this
policy and recommends to the Golf Associations and the CCMA
Board that the publically support this authority for course
rangers.
- FCCC Local Rules – these were reviewed to insure that
the three Golf Associations had identical wording.
Additionally, on a motion by Ken Ruszkowski, seconded by
Joan Coffman, the Committee voted in favor of adding a new
local rule, “Relief from Aeration Holes.” FCCC now has a
total of 17 local rules.
- FCCC Winter Rules – recommendation was made to define
the winter season as the months of December through
February. (Rule # 1) Additionally, the Committee recommends
that the “Leaf Rule” (rule #2) be defined as the months of
November through February. As is customary, these
recommendations will be submitted to the Golf Associations
for their input.
- Golf Tournament eligibility - The Committee continues
to endorse the concept that the Golf Associations should
define eligibility for their own tournaments. The Committee
further wishes to emphasize that for FCCC sponsored
tournaments, eligible players must be full golf members.
- Silver Tees - Discussion on (a) current handicap
differentials between players competing from different tees
and (b) eligibility requirements (if any) for competing in
tournaments. Further discussion and recommendation(s)
was/were tabled until more information is made available.
- HRT Committee Sponsored Golf Clinic. - Recommendation
by Joan Coffman to consider an outdoor golf clinic,
utilizing one or two golf holes ( e.g. Marsh Hawk 17 ) and
to have live demonstrations by the pro staff and/or
Committee members who would staff several “stations”
to demonstrate proper golf rule etiquette. Time frame
would be late spring/early summer. Food and beverages would
be served afterwards. Specific details to be further
discussed.
Respectfully submitted to the CCMA Board of Directors;
Al Davis, HRT Chair
